61: Risky Business
RISKY BUSINESS
Risk. What’s your relationship to that word? Some people avoid it at all costs. Some tolerate it. Others crave it. It’s their juice. They live life on the razor’s edge.
Yup. You guessed it. Today’s guest, Kevin Van Eekeren loves risk.
As a kid, Kevin lived in a nice middle class neighborhood. He never witnessed crime. Boring!
So, he started doing drive-alongs with the police. He did a lot of them and, eventually, became a guy who trains SWAT teams.
There’s a lot more to Kevin’s story. In fact, he’s a man who keeps reinventing himself, a man who is not afraid to change his story and change his life.
Listen in. Make this your drive-along. You may develop a new respect for risk. You may look at risk aversion and risk management through a new lens.
Who knows? You may even fall in love with the risky side of life.

KEVIN’S FAVORITE QUOTE
“After all, the chief business of the American people is business. They are profoundly concerned with producing, buying, selling, investing and prospering in the world. I am strongly of the opinion that the great majority of people will always find these the moving impulses of our life.” – Calvin Coolidge
